Just a reminder, when the taxcutters are frothing at the mouth
"you cannot raise taxes on the rich, they create jobs!"

Please ask them where in the devil are the jobs that
the rich were supposed to have created??? They have
had those tax cuts for the last 6r 7 years??? 700 Billion
worth of tax cuts---not many jobs to show for it.
Another myth. These are all those outsourced and shipped
overseas jobs.

When they then cry, you cannot raise taxes in a recession,
remind them the Recession has been declared officially
over--it has been over since June 2009. (Jobless Recovery
due to Globalization crisis and Trade Policies that did
not work to expectations.

6. Yep. 2000s were the weakest recovery from an official recession.

Maybe we should give the corporatists another decade? :silly:

7. Tax Cuts for the Rich? Private or Corporate?
Edited on Tue Sep-21-10 09:04 AM by Urban Prairie
Most large businesses, whether foreign or domestic, have paid little or no taxes over the past decade due to loopholes in the US tax code. So cutting their taxes would have no effect on job creation , not to mention that there has to be a greater demand for their products or services in order to create "more" jobs (most that inevitably will be off-shored or outsourced anyway.)

This is all a BS scheme by conservatives, including their desire to continue to increase funding for homeland defense and the military, so that the government is ultimately forced to drastically cut, if not better still, completely eliminate socialist entitlement programs (couched in their "personal responsibility" rhetoric)

No answers or comments are offered by Rethugs, as to how tens of millions in the US are supposed to continue to survive, absent the benefits and assistance of social services. I suppose that they believe that charity, prayer, friends, and family will have to suffice?

Nope....what likely would happen, if they were to get their wish, is tens of millions more becoming homeless, widespread sickness/illness, deaths, starvation, rioting, and a massive surge in violent crime.
