Poll question: What Counts Your Votes?
In which way do you cast your votes and what system tabulates your votes?

1. A computer, but not touch screen.
It uses membrane type buttons (not sure what they're called).

3. voting method
We use electronic voting machines, but not touch-screen. (uses a wheel to select and buttons to click on selection). Each ballot can be printed out (but is not); total is by electronic tabulation; each machine can be audited, I think. We've not had any problems that I know of. I think it is harder for very elderly people to figure out, just as any technology such as computers, is difficult for them. My mother, after trying out the machines a couple of times, always got a paper ballot by mail.

5. I have voted on almost all
I got to thinking...... in 98 voted on a punch card

2000 and 2002 a lever

2004 a touchscreen

2006 and 08 optical scan paper ballot.

4 different systems in 10 years time.

What that says is that the way our votes are counted has no stability.

No stability, and who knows what they'll come up with next, eh?

6. We have a choice between touch screen and optical scan.
I've used both. I usually use the optical scan.

7. Optical scan is the best
Because it is both human and machine readable

8. At the Minnesota State Fair I got to tell our SOS Mark Ritchie how much I appreciate
having my vote recorded on a paper ballot. He agreed that it is definitely a good thing.
