Ahmadinejad slams 'silence' over US woman's execution
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condemned the "media silence" over the impending execution of a U.S. woman for ordering the murder of her husband and stepson, IRNA news agency reported Tuesday.

"A woman is being executed in the United States for murder but nobody protests against it," Ahmadinejad told a group of Islamic figures in the U.S. on Monday, according to IRNA, Iran's official news agency.

He was referring to Teresa Lewis, 41, who is due to be executed in the state of Virginia on Thursday despite her supporters arguing that she has diminished mental faculties.

But it's OK by MA to stone a woman to death for adultery no matter her IQ level, right? Other countries should mind their own business about this situation . . . .

1. At some level, he has a point, we shouldn't be executing people
Of course Ahmadiblahblah is just protesting this for the attention it'll get him, but he's right.

3. He isn't saying that the death penalty is a bad thing, he's saying our hypocrisy is a bad thing.
I understand there's a difference between how we go about administering the DP than they do, but you are not being honest when you switch the topic from media coverage/outrage into being about the death penalty itself.

As for "other countries should mind their own business...," either that's got to be applied to all countries, including anyone minding Iran's business of stoning women, or it shouldn't be applied to any, and all countries and persons can mind any business in any other country.

5. There's a difference between capital punishment
being applied for MURDER as opposed to having sex.

Which invalidates his point completely.

6. Some think so, I guess. Seems capital punishment is bad either way.
