What is the revenue difference between expiring cuts over $250K vs $1 Million? |

What is the revenue diffrence between lets the Bush cuts expire on income over $250K vs. letting them expire on income over $1000K?
(I have no idea but there are plenty of informed folks here.)

1. Good question -- I can't answer specifically, but I have two points |
|
First, I assume that the pyramid narrows pretty quickly, so that of those making over 250K in general, the ones making between 250K and 1M far outweigh those making 1M+.
Second, recently there were posts showing a graphic (which I think came from NYT or Newsweek) consisting of a series of circles showing the change in taxes under Obama's plan and the full extension of all the Bush cuts. If I recall correctly that was broken down by income at or close to the increments you wish, and the largest circles were in the top brackets.
So bottom line, I think the greatest revenue difference is most likely in the $1M+ crowd.
