There are too many polls. Polling is a scumbag industry, about as reputable as the private health insurance industry.

It's all very mentally taxing.

I am asking nicely that it please stop.

1. Or you could simply choose not to pay attention to those posts.

2. The "ignore thread" button is your friend.
I use it liberally whenever there's an OCD breakdown here and 50, 60, 70 or more posts on the same subject appear. I think I hid about 100 Glen Beck threads before, during, and after that big hoo-hah in DC.

Just a suggestion.

;)

3. Good luck with that...
Of all the off-topic shit that gets posted on DU, I would think polling results are at least relevant to politics.

4. There are good polls and bad ones... I want to see at least
the ones known to be reliable. I will ignore the rest.

5. Democrats & Republicans are the same when it comes to polls:
good polls are those with which we agree and support our viewpoints, bad polls don't.

Any poll that does not support what we believe cannot be valid.

from a technical standard. Many of us on DU have heavy statistical backgrounds. Don't lump me in with that kind of superficial and childish attitude. Your comment was apparently meant to insult me, but I will chose to ignore that. :eyes:

9. My comment was not meant to insult you, but is an observation of how polls are treated here.
If it doesn't agree with what most here believe, then the poll, any poll, is dismissed and declared not to be valid.

In the same way it appears that a Democrat cannot ever actually lose an election. If the Dem loses, then somehow the election was rigged or stolen.

17. That does seem to be the case...
How elections are treated, I mean...

There are people...some of them not even residents of Mass...who insist that Scott Brown didn't win the election fair and square. That there must certainly have been some evil manipulations going on with voting machines, even though he also won in the smaller towns where we use paper ballots.

And to make it worse, these disbelievers act like we (the residents of Mass who accept the result of the election even though we're not happy with it) are just too stupid to know what's REALLY going on.

16. Sort of like...
"We win" equals "honest election, the people have spoken"

"We lost" = "voter fraud" or "election fraud"

6. "Hide thread" is back, and presumably, you have a scroll wheel
or can use the scroll bars to skip right past an offending thread.

Try it--it works wonders, and I have no one on ignore!

LOL!

I don't pay attention to polls until the last 3 weeks and
then take them with a grain of salt

14. With apologies to those who lack the ability to process information without becoming mentally taxed:
Information is good. More information is better. Most DUers are mature and intelligent enough handle news about polls.

15. I think polling is here to stay. Here meaning this site,
other sites, national media, Jiffy Lube, Home Depot, and a catfish shack on a St. John's backwater.

It will be hard to escape.
