republicans: Hard on Gays, Soft on Defense
Edited on Tue Sep-21-10 02:18 PM by bigtree
Marine Gen. Amos claims that repealing DADT would distract Marines on the battlefield . . . would distract them more than republicans in Congress dithering on the funding they rely on.

Seeing them holding up the Defense bill to prevent repeal of DADT shows that fighting gays is more important to republicans than providing for our national defense.

1. Huh huh, hunh huh, you said "hard on gays".

Seriously, though, you're right - Republicans don't give a shit about the troops at all, except for the easy political points they can score by shouting "Think of the troops!" once in a while to a very distractable America.

Republicans love funding for military machinery, because they own stock in those companies. They hate funding for stuff the troops can actually use (like materials, salary, housing, and so on) because they don't make any money from offering those.

2. The Republicans lack the capacity to feel shame.
Let alone to feel any connection to fellow human beings.

3. So we're to believe that The Few and the Proud
are too "upset" and "distracted" by the possibility of perhaps serving with someone who could be gay or lesbian? That's the argument now?

Army Strong? Few and Proud? Unless they feel "icky"?

FUCKING INSANE!!!! :nuke:

4. Hee hee...
My favorite moment on this sort of thing is Big Gay Al's song in the South Park film, with =all= of the soldiers screaming and raving appreciation.

5. "We must preserve unit cohesion and morale"
Translation: "We must coddle the handful of whiny, resentful bullies instead of protecting the victims."

Fuck that. I agree with Gaga. The problem is NOT gay soldiers--the problem is homophobic soldiers. Instead of throwing out the gays, throw out the scant handful of whiny phobes who can't control themselves like mature adults.

6. Gaga's right
(I think that's the first and last time I say that . . . Lady 'Gaga'? Really?)

Throw the homophobes out. They're harming morale and unit cohesiveness.
