"No Taxation Without Representation"!
Edited on Tue Sep-21-10 08:17 PM by sabrina 1
Gays should not be taxed until they are fully represented as first class citizens in this country.

Marches, petitions, phone-calls etc. are fine, but they can be and often are ignored by those in power.

But money is never ignored. See what happens if Gays try not to pay their taxes.

I would like to ask every single Republican who voted against repealing DADT today, why a citizen who is not represented in this country should be paying taxes?

Republicans claim they are patriots. They claim to honor the Constitution. They SAY a lot of things.

But their votes today demonstrate how little they respect this country and its values.

If they want to hold up this vote, Gays should be able to hold up their taxes until all their rights are fully in place.

How about an ESCROW account where the taxes of all citizens without representation will be held until that representation is guaranteed?

And how about inundating Republicans with emails and phone-calls asking them to explain why citizens who are not granted full civil rights in this country should be asked to pay taxes at all?

Republicans give the word 'Patriot' a bad name. Shame on all of them for what they did today.

1. Just found a war tax resistor site although it's not easy, the Federal Government
doesn't like people holding up their taxes. I have not found any case of a group that was discriminated against by the U.S. Government, denied rights granted in the Constitution, who tried it yet. I definitely think it's worth trying.

They are just going to keep putting it off because the military is so 'Christianized' by Fundies that they are afraid of offending them, instead of just over-ruling them. I think that is the main reason why something that a majority of the public is for, cannot get passed.
