Christine O’Donnell was back for another dose of Republican Rehab from Sean Hannity last night (9/21/10). Sinking in the polls, the brunt of witchcraft jokes, and now a complaint filed against her by Citizens For Responsibility and Ethics in Washington for using campaign funds for personal expenses, O’Donnell got a double segment for rehab on Hannity. There, next to his warm, supporting glow that beamed out across the country, she announced that she was only going to make herself available to local media from now on because “Delaware is my focus and the local media is my focus.” Except when the local media is inconvenient. She also revealed that she was trying to exclude media from her campaign appearances because they interfered with her ability to meet the voters. The only reason she was on Hannity? She just happened to be in New York on business. Anyone want to bet that her next “business” trip to New York will coincide with her next campaign blunder?
In Part 1 of the interview, O’Donnell waved off the “dabbling in witchcraft” video and insisted, “My focus is on what’s important to the people of Delaware… I’m going to focus on letting the people of Delaware know what I want to do to get jobs back in Delaware, to reduce the size of government, to make our homeland strong once again. We’ve got serious issues facing our country right now and this type of stuff is a diversion and I want to get back on message.”
She spent next to no time talking about those serious issues. If she mentioned what she wants to do to get jobs back in Delaware, I missed it.
