Don't Ask Don't Tell
The US Constitution guarantees us the right to bear arms. I think that the finest way for a citizen to bear arms would be as a member of our military in the protection of this country. Couldn't you make an argument in Court that Don't Ask Don't Tell violates the Constitutional Rights of gays to bear arms in the service of their country? There have been so many fine men and women who have proven their ability to serve this country with distinction and they get tossed out of the military JUST because they are gay? It is stupid and so short sighted. We deserve to have the best, brightest and most capable military and sexual orientation should not be an issue. If you look at worldwide military history one might make the argument that heterosexual soldiers are more dangerous then homosexual ones. A great example is the Nanking Massacre by the Japanese. They massacred hundreds and thousands of Chinese and raped 20,000 to 80,000 women. Look at the Katyn Forest massacre carried out by the Russians and blamed on the Germans in WW II. Then there is the Hamidian Massacres of 100,000-300,000 Armenians by Ottoman Forces. And don't forget about Rwanda.

For those people whose sensibilities are insulted over the idea of gays serving in the military - GET OVER IT! What is more important, your sensibilities or the safety of your country?

Im not anti gaga or anything shes just sort of on the periphery of my attention..

She had it right "Send those who cannot handle being around gay folks back home get them out of the services". or maybe to paraphrase, because I was not really listening. until the cheers right after that.

I know from personal experience seeing how phobes act towards gay men..they don't treat their wives/girlfriends/ women in general much better..
