Poll question: MSNBC v. Comedy Central evening lineup
Liberals basically have two places to go on cable if we want a viewpoint that isn't as full of shit as the rest of the corporate media. Maddow is the only cable TV news network personality I can stand to watch, but I prefer Stewart and Colbert. I also think it makes someone better informed if they limit their exposure to MSNBC's daytime propaganda.

Which nightly lineup do you prefer, based on whatever criteria you choose?

12. I watch both online anyway.
Or when I'm visiting someone with cable. I miss a lot of shows.

4. I don't watch TV news at all.
The only TV I watch is sports, or, rarely, series such as the BSG remake and "Inspector Lewis."

18. I don't watch much either.
There are a few shows I catch on a regular basis. It's better that way.

17. Comedy Central
but only because I expect funny.. I don;t like Olbermann's "light" sections which comprise a LOT of his hour.

I would prefer a REAL newscast from him.

Rachel sometimes overdoes a story & if it's not something I am interested in, I switch to HouseHunters:)

21. Me too.
Olbermann is great and I'm glad he's there doing his thing. But he's too over-dramatic for me. The other three are more energetic than NPR without being over the top.

20. I think you're right
I watched Olbermann and Maddow back-to-back starting at 5pm (I think) while the first airing of TDS didn't start around 10 or 11pm. I don't have cable anymore so I don't quite remember the hours but I remember it in that order.

16. I guess a tie
I like Jon Stewart over Keith Olbermann. I like Maddow over Colbert.

I no longer have cable though but when I did I watched the first airing of Olbermann and Maddow and watched the second airing of The Daily Show and Colbert Report.

23. If I had cable
that's what I would do. I only catch shows online. I'd be interested to see how many viewers do exactly what you did.

They don't come on at the same time here, so I can watch (or record) them all.

26. I watch Keith because that is all I'm allowed with kids in the house...
Edited on Wed Sep-22-10 06:11 PM by Ozymanithrax
They use the TV from 6 - 7:30, and then it's bed time.

I watch Stewart and Colbert most nights. Kids and wife are asleep.

So for me, it isn't either or. Maddow is good, but her show doesn't fit my lifestyle.
