Bob Woodward's New Book "The Obama Wars."
I just heard on MSNBC Chris Matthews saying that Bob Woodward
has come out with a new book "The Obama Wars." Obama is quoted as
having said that he'd continue the Afghan war, but not beyond two
years, because he didn't want to lose the entire Democratic Party.
Well, the two years are almost up.

So, Matthews was speculating about politics playing a role in the
Afghan war. Another point brought up was, if Obama was in it to
placate the military? (This immediately reminded me of
Eisenhower's warning about the Military/Industrial Complex - we're
living in it right now! This is it!

The military officers are in it for their careers, and corporations
are in it for the money).

And Obama is in it because of what? Fear, perhaps?

2. Why does anyone talk to Woodward? I mean seriously?
Even if you ask him how his weekend was, you know that it's going to wind up in his next book.

11. Do you actually find him that bad? He had the guts to interview Bush and
write about him (warts and all) when the latter was still in power. Besides,
he was also the one responsible for having nailed Nixon at Watergatek, wasn't he?
He is an old man now, but it would be nice to have journalists today who are more
like him in his hey-day going after the truth -- instead of the well-paid
pathological liars Fox loves to hire. And whatever Fox touches becomes filthy
and degenerate. Nothing good can come from psychopaths.

3. Of course Obama did this to appease the military. But the ...........
same officers should be judged as unfit for command after allowing themselves to be duped by such an idiot as Bush.

The officers I am talking about are the one's in the Pentagon who idly sat by while Cheney sat in their offices and cherry picked information.

10. With a few exceptions like Gen. Wesley Clark, most military
officers are Republicans. Military people are more likely to have the type
of personality that enjoys receiving orders from above, and passing them on
to those below. It's their style to walk in lock-step. It's their way of
life. This ties in well with the Republican Party way of life.

I think it would be very difficult to succeed in winning judgments against
them in court, since it is their duty to obey and follow orders (whether
stupid or not) from superiors. "Theirs is not to question why, theirs is
but to do and die." :o)

6. I've frequently heard it said that the most frequent reason for wars is
profit for business corporations. The careers of ambitious military officers come a close second.
And the politics involved usually come under the influences of a combination of these two mighty
institutions, the Military/Industrial Complex. And Eisenhower had warned us about it half a century
ago. And this is a frightfully powerful twosome that politicians have to contend with.

5. The ONLY point is NOT the gossip, it's that the Prez did NOT kiss PATRAEUS's ass
The media is shocked-SHOCKED that there was ACTUALLY SOME DEBATE about the plans. Back then as always they assumed that 1) OBAMA was a wimp and 2) He needed and did kiss PATRAEUS's ass as a lifeline to being a manly-man like Shrub.

NOW, the REAL news in WHORE-WOODWARD's "book" is that he didn't kiss ass. I can hardly wait till 5 A.M. to put this in Joe-SCABS' e-mail which is only activated during their circus hours.
