1. These DimSonsofBitches don't realize how they're being used
They have absolutely NO CLUE that because of that very government they so loathe, protect them against the abuses of big conglomerates ready to take away everything government had to intervene in in order to preserve, and what they selfishly enjoy - including public schools, police, fire departments, libraries, cleaner water, air, environment, and rights.

2. Outlaws
Billionaires don't think they should need to follow the law, and there are plenty of stupid people willing to help them.

4. Here is a fantastic study on the mentality of the Teabaggers.

Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One's Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments

Justin Kruger and David Dunning
Department of Psychology
Cornell University

http://gagne.homedns.org/~tgagne/contrib/unskilled.html

<snip>
Abstract
People tend to hold overly favorable views of their abilities in many social and intellectual domains. The authors suggest that this overestimation occurs, in part, because people who are unskilled in these domains suffer a dual burden: Not only do these people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it.
<snip>

Enjoy the article because it speaks directly to the mentality we are seeing from the right and the teabaggers.

9. That's absurd.
The tea party "movement" was orchestrated by a guy named Lyman or Wyman or something like that, and was part of the Ron Paul presidential campaign hoopla in 2008. It was libertarian inspired, and it wasn't until last year that it got coopted by the mainstream GOP.

It used to stand for smaller government, lower taxes, decreased spending on defense, less foreign intervention, ending the war on drugs, and general libertarian principles.

There was a lot in it for the antiwar people and libertarian people to get on board with, but of course, since Ron Paul was nominally a Republican, he was persona non-grata around here. We'd rather keep the body bags piling up as long as we don't have to deal with "tea bags", right? The term "tea baggers" was coined by detractors to equate what was really a grass roots movement with homosexuality.

Ending our interventionism around the world is really the only way we are going to salvage our economy, but nobody wants to hear that. We'd rather borrow our way into a 20 year depression than admit that neither Democrats nor Republicans can "save the world".

So the Tea Party movement is dead, and what is left is just Little Green Footballs with another name, and both of the remaining political parties are pro-war, pro-tax, pro-deficit and completely blind to the cost we are inflicting on the world and ourselves.
