Can anyone answer this question about the new health insurance rules? |
|
My daughter is a grad student in California, and their optional plan for dependents for the year 2010-2011 still says it provides a maximum of $100 K a year. According to what we've read elsewhere online, all plans should now have a $750K a year maximum, except for "minimed" plans -- whatever they are. Her school insurance office couldn't explain the discrepancy, and they referred her to the insurer. The insurer couldn't explain the discrepancy, and they referred her back to the school.
Is there some state office in California where she should direct her questions and/or file a complaint? Or some federal office? Shouldn't her school plan for dependents have increased its maximum annual payment to $750K?

8. Just answering your questions. |
|
If you want to insult me, that's fine, but I did take the time out of my day to answer the questions you posed.
Perhaps you meant to ask different questions. Perhaps this is a communication lesson on the importance of using the English language appropriately and accurately.

First MiniMed plans are fill-gap plans, not primary health insurance plans. I am guessing that since the new rules don't take affect until tommorrow, a whole new slew of paperwork will be issued by the insurance carrier. I'd give it a couple of weeks, then contact the insurer again if you haven't heard from them.
