Should impartial government offices servicing the public be permitted to run 8 hrs of Faux Snooze on
lobby TV's? And if not, what should be done about it? If yes, why?

1. absolutely not
If it is federal office, it would be a violation of the Hatch Act. Surely state and local governments have restrictions against partisan politics in the workplace.
Would love to see that in court.

10. Where on this page can I find the prohibition on listening
to Fox? I think it is bad form but I don't see how it violates the Hatch Act.

12. Wow! Pretty snappy comeback there.
So has this Fox in the Social Security waiting room ever happened? Have you seen it? I am not a fan of Fox. It just does not terrify me like apparently terrifies you.

7. No! And complaining about it is always appropriate.
My company has a health plan that involves us with a health care group which shall remain unnamed. We started using them a couple of years ago. It became apparent that all their TVs in the waiting rooms were showing Fox News all the time. We raised hell about it for several months, and they actually implemented a rotation of Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, and posted signs which show the day of the week and times of those channels.

In matters such as this, it always helps to have a measured approach. No one responds well to personal ranting. The measured complaint, followed up by written complaints, works better. Visits, phone calls, and emails are good, but nothing beats a letter with a hard copy the organization must address. It's much easier for them to blow off the other forms of communication, but paper gets circulated and ends up in a file. Paper means "we're serious about this, so don't think you'll blow us off." Paper demands that the recipient act.

It is always appropriate to say "if this is not addressed, I'll take it to the TV channels that are not Fox, and ask them to come interview you."

8. Yes always paper. But I am curious about how many would actually
take action in an office from which they are seeking assistance and wonder about the affects on thinking complaints may affect their assistance.
