From start, Bush team focused on war with Iraq: documents
It was all about Iraq.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/09/bush-team-focused-war-iraq/

Former president George W. Bush's advisers focused on toppling Saddam Hussein's regime as soon as he took office and discussed how to justify a war in Iraq shortly after invading Afghanistan in 2001, official documents showed Wednesday.

A few hours after the September 11 attacks in 2001, then defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld spoke of attacking Iraq as well as Osama bin Laden, according to notes of a meeting on that day, newly declassified papers show.

Rumsfeld told a Pentagon lawyer to go to his deputy to get "support" showing a supposed link between the Iraqi regime and Al-Qaeda's founder, according to the papers posted by the Washington-based National Security Archive, an independent research institute.

In June and July of 2001, senior administration officials seized on intercepted aluminum tubes as proof that Iraq was pursuing nuclear weapons, even before a preliminary assessment of the tubes, according to two State Department memos to then secretary of state Colin Powell.

One memo states the US government's interest in "publicizing the interdiction to our advantage" and "getting the right story out" about the tubes, which were soon found to have no nuclear connection.

4. The moment it leaked
that * said Saddam "tried to kill my daddy!" it was clear that that was the real reason why the Iraq got invaded. And that is in my opinion the decision of a King/Dictator instead of a President of a Democratic country. Of course we all know that the Congress was eating out of *'s hand back then.

5. When I was in a job where I met people...
.. all day I met an army officer. We developed a rapport although I was careful not to be too honest about what I felt about the moron president we had at the time.

The subject of Iraq came up and he just spat it out - preparations for that war were underway well before 9-11.

They knew their "war stimulus" was on its way. They knew.

7. "He tried to hurt my daddy"
The son had to prove himself worthy of the father so that the Oedipal cycle could be broken. The dead U.S. men and women of the military...as well as countless Iraqi citizens...were the "collateral damage" required to make that happen.

Miss him yet?

9. Its No Longer "Hear Say Evidence' these are "hard evidence'
Edited on Thu Sep-23-10 08:53 AM by Ichingcarpenter
We all knew the lies but the media said it was hear say
now we have the documents to proved they planned it .

I put this news in LBN because it wasn't posted there yet, but I saw it here first.

Remember that Aggressive Wars are War Crimes and these guys
think they got away with it by lying.

A crime against peace, in international law, refers to "planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of wars of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances, or participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the foregoing" . This definition of crimes against peace was first incorporated into the Nuremberg Principles and later included in the United Nations Charter. This definition would play a part in defining aggression as a crime against peace.

A war of aggression is a military conflict waged without the justification of self-defense. Waging such a war of aggression is a war crime under the customary international law. It is generally agreed by scholars in international law that the military actions of the Nazi regime in World War II in its search for so-called "Lebensraum" are characteristic of a war of aggression.

During the trial, the chief American prosecutor, Robert H. Jackson, stated:

To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.

11. Lucky for them the 9/11 attacks happened when they did. It conveniently and
coincidentally gave them all the excuse they needed to proceed with their plan.

13. And a docile press corps knew not to inquire too closely
All the bulldogs of the Fourth Estate dozed peacefully on the porch while all this was happening, in spite of millions of citizens telling them otherwise. But they didn't ask any questions or challenge any assumptions, spoken or tacit. No, it was all just an inevitability; you might as well try to stop the sun from coming up in the east, or arrest the movement of the tides.

Oddly enough, many of those same people (if not their lethal attitude) continue to inform our national discourse to this day.

12. We've known this for over seven years
Hell woodward's books revealed that.

Why Bush and his people should be on the docket for count one of the Nuremberg Indictment, waging aggressive war. Yes kiddies THAT is a war crime. And of course that is the top of the indictment... things like TORTURE are also war crimes, and they go all the way up... not a few bad apples deciding to have some fun on third shift.
