3. Smoked weed every day for 20 years.

Quit about 12 years ago. Quit drinking about 11 years ago. I would much rather smoke a joint again than have a drink. Should pot be legal? Without question. I would much rather hang with people that are stoned than drunk. Being high doesn't turn people into instant assholes, the same can't be said for booze.

I retired from the military a few years ago, and I let my hair grow and grew a beard. my friends started calling me a "dirty hippie" and I stated that I was, in fact, quite clean, as I shower at least once a day. They said, well that just makes you a clean hippie, it its stuck with me!

Yeah, yeah, I know there are other methods. I would most certainly abstain from anything that involves inhaling smoke into my lungs. I would probably avoid it in food because I suspect it would mean a lot of eating to have much fun, and I just lost 35 lbs with no intentions of regaining it all.

19. I graduated with honors - totally stoned all through college.

I took all of my finals while shitfaced and pretty much aced them all. But I gave up pot over a year before we planned to conceive our first child (who is 19 now) and really have no intention of going back to it. Still, it should be legal. The country has wasted a shitload of money and imprisoned far too many people over pot.

Like Gallagher said about 30 years ago: "Some people say that pot makes you want to commit crimes. It just makes me want to crash out on the couch."

It doesn't really matter to me though. I've thought reefer should be legalized for over 40 years. No not "decriminalized", LEGALIZED. Marijuana prohibition is one of the STUPIDEST legal restrictions I've ever known in all my semilong life. It ranks right up there with discrimination in all of it's myriad forms.

ENOUGH DAMN IT! LEGALIZE IT!

As an aside, could we get it legalized if we started a Christian denomination with a sacrament involving pot?
