Meek gets endorsement from Orange County legislators.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Kendrick Meek has received the endorsements of three state legislators — including two of the three Democratic House members who represent Orange County. Reps. Scott Randolph of Orlando and Darren Soto of south Orange/Osceola, joined Rep. Mark Pafford of West Palm Beach.

Said Soto: “Kendrick Meek has a long and reliable record of supporting issues Hispanics care about, including a strong economy, advancing education through smaller class sizes, equality, and fair wages. He was a strong supporter of Justice Sotomayor’s nomination and is against the Arizona style immigration law, issues important to our community. Kendrick Meek has asked for our support and I am honored to stand by him in Central Florida.”

Added Randolph: “Kendrick Meek has been protecting the people of Florida since his days as a Florida State Trooper. He’s not afraid to stand up and speak truth to power. In his opposition to HB 1143, Kendrick stood for all women as a champion of choice. Kendrick is committed to securing justice for every Floridian, not just the ones with big pocketbooks. I am proud to stand by Kendrick and endorse his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.”

1. This guy is really impressive. I'm watching this race, especially as I'm
in a red state too.

2. You have no idea how much I'm banking on this guy.
And I hope he decides to run his Senate office on a foundation of integrity.

3. Just looked at (EV on his polling.
Not too promising--but I really like that his ads just put his liberal creds right out there. If he can do reasobnably well, we might start seeing more straight ahead ads--I think voters would appreciate that.
