republican leaders called on Ms Pelosi to IMMEDIATELY being a debate on their pledge items
a busload of arrogant pricks.....

STERLING, Va. — House Republicans offered their “Pledge to America,” a combination campaign platform and legislative agenda, on Thursday morning, saying that jobs will return if spending slows and tax rates are kept from rising.

Representative John Boehner of Ohio, the Republican leader, officially unveiled the blueprint from a lumber warehouse at the back of a Virginia hardware store. Before the announcement, he and other House leaders met behind closed doors with owners of the business, the Tart Lumber Company, as well as a handful of other small business owners.

“We are here today to put forth a new governing agenda built by listening to the American people and offer a new way forward,” Mr. Boehner said. “Our pledge to America is that Republicans stand ready to get it done.”

The Republican leaders called on the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, to immediately begin a debate on the items on their list, including making lower tax rates for all taxpayers permanent, holding back federal spending, repealing the health-care overhaul enacted this year and reducing the federal deficit.

1. I hope she tells them
Sure - right after we all get it done . . . the 'it' being the end of the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich that are NOT deficit neutral.

2. But, but, but...aren't they all smug about taking over in 2012?
They can just wait their turn and deal with their precious list then.

3. I hope she sets their pledge on fire on the House floor

6. Refresh my memory, but aren't the Democrats in the majority?
I remember how deferential the Republicans were to the minority when they weren't in it. I don't think it would be untoward for them to receive the exact same treatment they meted out back in the day. But somehow, it will be made to seem so by our fearless bulldogs of the Fourth Estate.

7. She should have said 'NO'
because I just want to go along with the republicans way of thinking. NO is their favorite word and that's what she should tell them.

9. Why?
Afraid they aren't actually going to win the midterms and do it for themselves? Those internals must be pretty bad.

15. Make them repeal their OWN spending like Medicare Part D
Time to point out that Republicans passed and Bush signed the $500 billion Medicare Part D bribe to seniors

Dems need to point to Republican speeding and tell them to start by repealing/cutting their own programs.
