2. More likely they forgot to renew the domain name - OR the auto renew Credit Card expired.

Frankly, I've noticed Facebook getting slower and slower as time goes on. I think it just got too big for its britches too fast and they don't have a fucking clue how to handle the volume of traffic. My wife uses it almost nightly and the number of "can't do that now" or "timed out" type errors has steadily increased. I use it occasionally, although I don't think I've even logged in since May.
