That basically, their rabid homophobia draws a lot of attention back on themselves.

Now, I'm not saying at all that all homophobes are closeted gays... Not at all. However, it would make any subsequent exposure of their kinks, hypocrisy and other problematic aspects of their own sex lives very much unwanted if outed.

The latest example with Pastor Long should be very instructive to any all other homophobes out there.

But, I'm not holding my breath...

It's too much fun to see what happens once their bullshit is exposed.

But I'm not unwilling to consider that a lot of them are in fact straight.

I have known far too many gays of both sexes over the years to even count and never had a problem with any of them (well, other than the waiter at Ruby Tuesday's who had a thing for me and gave my wife "cat eyes" for being with me). The ones I have a problem with are the "holier than thou" sorts blasting gays in an attempt to hide their internal conflict with their own sexual preference. Unfortunately, when they are exposed it is far too often because of an incident involving minors of the same sex. That doesn't make them gay in my opinion - it makes them predatory pervert animals.

My eldest daughter is a member of the gay rights club at her college even though she isn't gay. She just supports equal rights of all kinds. My wife and I can claim at least some credit for that because of the way we brought up our three daughters. As Horton said, "a person's a person, no matter how small." The "how small" part can be replaced with any qualifier you like and it is still true, even "a Republican", although that may be difficult to accept.
