Punitive damages are capped at $250,000 or double your economic damages.

Therefore, if you make $30k per year and a drunk doctor kills you, your family will receive $250,000 for your life. If you make $30 million per year and a drunk doctor kills you, your family can receive hundreds of millions of dollars for your life.

The Republicans just admitted that they value the lives of the rich more than they value the lives of the poor and middle class.
