So you don't see what was said as being outrageous? A sitting President almost inviting another attack? Ellipses notwithstanding, this could be exactly how it's written in the book. Just the first sentence alone is enough to raise eyebrows and red flags. But, if you don't think so, then punctuate away.

Actually that "absorb" language was originally in published Bush White House documents that are still archived on the WH site, so the outrage is somewhat tardy and misdirected: ,
