3. The images are so vivd
I think it imprinted so fast. Most of us have either been in the hospital or have had a loved one in there. And all the analogies to the movies and such. It's a natural.

4. Someone posted a few months ago...
That this scandal is perfect for the corporate masters...it gets rid of these idiots, but leaves the corporate/war machine in place...that seems to sum it up...

5. It sounds like the Movie Plot of the Godfather
everyone remembers that scene...in the hospital when Michael found his father unguarded. This is so blatant. But until there is a blow job tossed in the plot...

6. I think because everyone can relate to it.
Many can disagree that it was wrong for Gonzo to fire the USA's, and it's a very tangled web. I can't imagine anyone...even the staunchest Shrub supporter...saying it was just fine for these idiots to rush off the the intensive care hospital room of someone, just to get their way whey they were told no by the current guy in charge. It's a straight foreward story with no twists or turns and very easy to visualize by anyone.

Simply, I think it has the visual impact to tell the bigger story from this one 'scene'.
These guys are thugs.

The late night 'visit' to a guy in ICU, post-op, the heads up phone call, the assistant's last minute stand - not to mention the FBI's corollary involvement - it all seems to speak to the truth of the administration's agenda better than a dozen op-ed articles could do justice.

There's nothing easier to understand than a guy getting strong armed in the ICU as his life already hangs in the balance.

8. it goes straight to the Chimp
clearly he sent his evil henchman to strongarm the sick man, in an effort to circumvent the legal process. It has Chimpy's fingerprints all over it.

work of others on previous scandals, some in Washington -- in congress and the media -- are feeling bold enough to confront the administration.

12. Because the newsmedia has all the answers already - What was known and when
the president knew it.

They didn't have to lift a finger. Of course, not ALL the media is covering the story - the network news is barely mentioning it, so it really hasn't broken wide.

19. heheh...we're so used to big stories getting ignored that cable news coverage SOUNDS BIG
when we get it. Some of the networks aren't covering it - but, I expect they will once the WH tells them how they want it spun.

Congress kept this story going even before they uncovered the juicy tidbits that the media and public can relate to.

21. According To One Of Tonight's Talking Heads...
and I can't remember which one, but when asked by the host why this was causing so much damage, he responded to the effect that, "Republicans thought that most people would not be able to "get" the intricacies of the fired lawyers story. But this, this is like a mob film, and THIS the voter "gets".

25. Maybe, just maybe the Democratic Leadership senses blood
in the water for the first time..

Don't forget when it comes down to it all of these bastards are cowards, they put on a brave face and walk and act like they are the Kings and Kings keepers but when they get caught.....

inevitably as it always happens....* will stand by them until they are no longer any use to him....and then he turns his back on them....and they realize for the first time they are naked without the emperors cover....

They will do anything to save themselves....Gonzo is going down and he is a treasure trove of * deepest, darkest secrets...

26. the Soprano's scenario
Edited on Fri May-18-07 08:32 PM by DearAbby
The imagination of the public can run wild..the late night standoff in an ICU Room, can you imagine what could have happened if Comey hadn't arrived in time? How far would they have gone had Ashcroft refused to "persuaded" to sign? It's so sinister, underworldish....Goodfellas kind a way.

28. Because this is something everyone can understand.
Here you have the president sending his guys to strong arm a sick man into signing off on something he has refused to agree to in the past.

You don't need to be a constitutional law scholar to figure that one out.
