Polls Lift Barbara Boxer And Jerry Brown In California
...snip...

A new Field poll of California released this morning shows Boxer leading Fiorina by six percentage points (47% to 41%), while a new automated SurveyUSA poll yields fewer undecided voters but gives Boxer the same six-point advantage (49% to 43%). A handful of automated surveys in late August and early September suggested a tighter race, including two earlier polls from SurveyUSA that gave Fiorina a slight edge, but the last five surveys conducted since mid-September all show Boxer with nominal leads.

...snip...

The two new California polls also suggest a reversal of the previous trend favoring Republican Meg Whitman. The Field poll results released yesterday show Whitman tied with Democrat Jerry Brown (at 41% each), while SurveyUSA gives Brown a small but statistically insignificant advantage (46% to 43%). So while six surveys had shown Brown with nominal leads in August and early September, the five most recent polls show either a tie or a slight Brown edge.

Our standard estimate shows a slight Whitman lead (45.9% to 44.4%), but our more sensitive trend line points puts Brown ahead by a single percentage point (45.5% to 44.1%). Either way, the California governor's race is currently the closest in the nation.

Thank gawd that things are going the way of the Dems. I live in CA ~~ I shudder at the thought of having Meg W and Carla F as the governor and US senator. Frightens the hell out of me. So this news is very welcome. While, yes, the polls are tight, at least there is movement in the correct direction.

1. Carly Fiorina Is Actively Courting Big Oil Dollars By Supporting Proposition 23
...and Meg Whitman is refusing to express her stance on the Proposition even though she has condemned the environmental laws that Proposition 23 is designed to gut.

2. I just read another news article about the Koch money coming out to support Fiorina
Disgusting. I cannot stand that woman. Boxer has been a good US Senator and has worked hard for Calif. Why change.

3. Brown's reaction to Whitman's Opp to 23:
But Whitman's Democratic opponent, Attorney General Jerry Brown, said her position doesn't go far enough.

During a stop at the Newark facility of PetersenDean, a solar and roofing company, Brown said Whitman's call for a one-year moratorium "makes no sense -- you want to create certainty, you want to create a framework of confidence so people will invest" in the clean energy sector.

"We need to have a clear signal that California is open for business," he added.

4. I'm doing some phone banking for Boxer next week in LA.
Having Carly "I screwed up HP so badly my own board had to remove me" Fiorina take Boxer's seat in the senate would be truly depressing.

Probably something in Long Beach. I like Boxer and think she is far, far superior to her opponent.
