Anyone having problems with Chase Bank?
I have money in my account one day, the next day I have very little, the next day I have more, and keeps changing. I do know what is in my account but they are not up to date what they deduct. I no longer trust them. I am getting a sneaky feeling they are doing this on purpose to occur fines. I am leaving there and returning back to my credit union. I am tired of their slimy tricks. The thing is according to my records they deduct everything immediately and then all of a sudden there is no money. I'm having a problem with their voodoo economics.

1. I don't trust any bank
It always amazes me how quickly they deduct a withdrawl, check or fee, and how slowly they credit a deposit. Good idea goign back to your credit union.

3. I can't handle Chase anymore
and what one Chase Banks says they won't validate another Chase Bank. I'm done with them. I don't want to go through the hassle having everything changed but...... that's life in a republican (teabag) world. Chase makes up their own rules. No way for Chase!

2. Do you keep taking money out and putting money into the account?
That could explain the changes in balance.

Now if you never take any money out or put any in and the balance changes there is something wrong.

Think I would call them and ask for an explanation for the fluctuating account balance.

4. I'm a normal person who puts money in and takes money out
This is not a savings account, it is my day to day banking. I never had a problem with Chase Bank until the last month, something happened.

If you have a Chase account watch it very carefully.

They are play voodoo economics.

I am not the only person who is having this problem, others are having this problem also.

5. Chase's website has been screwy for about a week
It has been in the news.

BTW, you should go back to the credit union anyway - better deal.

6. Not since I closed all my accounts with them last year
Really, truly, and seriously, if you're dissatisfied with Chase, there are a lot of other financial institutions wherein to keep your money. Some of them will even be glad to have you as an account holder. The big concerns like Chase (and Bank of America, and Citibank, and so on) count on inertia to keep you as a customer. It's a big hassle to open a new account anymore, but do it. And when you pull your money from Chase, have a BIG smile on your face. When the inevitable question as to why you're closing your account comes up, you have several options:

1. Rant and rave about their lousy customer service
2. Say, "You didn't care about me when I had an account here, why in the world would you care about me now?"

Oh, and on your way out? Tell the security guard he can go home for the day.

10. Wells Fargo was just sued successfully in California
for reordering deposits so they could collect fines. They pretty much all do similar things to maximize their ability to charge fines.

13. I have an account with my credit union
I did have problems with them but mostly it was their tech staff. The President of the credit union knows me by first name.... so there will not be a problem. I feel like I want to go home....... and I will. I just hate having everything transferred again but that is life.

When I was with the credit union I was able to save money but with Chase I don't save money. I have an account with the credit union and I am going to use it.

The one thing I like about the credit union, they do question money spent. For example, if I bought something that cost let's say 800.00, they would call me at my ph number and asked if I purchased the item -- they would ask me questions to make sure I was the one that purchased the item.... I like that.

I will be at the credit union today or tomorrow.

14. Don't deal with anyone on the bailout list
Find a competent credit union, if there's one in your area (unfortunately, the ones in my area are rinky-dink), and if you can't find that, then a smaller community bank will do, until it gets bought out by one of the majors.

21. I see you're from AZ
Out West, the big banks don't have the same towering presence that they do here in the Northeast, the credit unions here seem to be really lousy, when compared to the ones I remember from the Pacific Northwest.

17. Yup. We did, too.
They double-tapped my account for our mortgage. I called SunTrust's fraud division on their butts.

20. I was replying to your main comment.
Not to the Desert Schools subthread.

I called my bank's fraud division on Chase to get my double-tapped mortgage AND the overdrawn account charges back. I got it back yesterday.

19. Their site went down and is still causing problems.

Apparently, they took out too much on many accounts and are having to replace balances, overage charges, etc.

23. I gave up on them years ago after incredible problems with
a Chase credit card. Because I used it to donate $50 to John Kerry's campaign they blocked my card (as I was leaving for an extended business trip in Europe!) because of 'suspicious activity'! It took me more than 2 days at international long distance rates to finally get that straightened out. And, instead of an apology, they told me that I should be glad because they "were looking out for me". Rethugs all the way through.

26. I opened an account there recently
And got a $100 sign on bonus for attaching a direct deposit to the account. The management of my husbands job didnt get the papers turned in on on time and his next check went to Wachovia. That day we got a call from Chase threatening us for stealing the $100 sign on bonus because the direct deposit didn't go to their bank. We tried to explain that we had no control over the fact that it didn't go in to the right account, and they refused to listen. The guy who called was very rude and treated us like criminals, threatening to turn us over for fraud if the next check didn't go into THEIR bank, before hanging up on us midsentence. Luckily the branch we go to was more understanding... But they really need to sort out their call center tactics.
