It's been two days
since The National Security Archive posted declassified documents showing the Bush Administrations desire for war with Iraq from day one.

Notes used by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to brief Central Command chief Tommy Franks during a November 2001 meeting in Tampa to discuss a new plan for war with Iraq.

AFP has been the only news source to report on this:

From start, Bush team focused on war with Iraq: documents

By Dan De Luce (AFP) – 1 day ago

WASHINGTON — Former president George W. Bush's advisers focused on toppling Saddam Hussein's regime as soon as he took office and discussed how to justify a war in Iraq shortly after invading Afghanistan in 2001, official documents showed Wednesday.

A few hours after the September 11 attacks in 2001, then defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld spoke of attacking Iraq as well as Osama bin Laden, according to notes of a meeting on that day, newly declassified papers show.

Rumsfeld told a Pentagon lawyer to go to his deputy to get "support" showing a supposed link between the Iraqi regime and Al-Qaeda's founder, according to the papers posted by the Washington-based National Security Archive, an independent research institute.

2. I've been watching on and off all day to see if it spreads across the news.
The Nuremberg Principles are just so quaint in a post-911 world....well, unless they can be applied to other countries.

5. Yep...like it wasn't even happening
Much like a whole lot of people in America pretend the government didn't commit war crimes.

The whitewash rug is awash in blood...

7. Please citizen; no more wallowing in the past
You have your instructions. This is just politicizing serious governmental decisions. Would you want the Republicans to treat Democrats the same way? If we start investigating war crimes and crimes against humanity, it will do no one any good. The dead can't be brought back to life. The money is spent and gone. We can't retrieve the past, so it is better left buried.

Please search your heart and if you cannot find it within you to accept what's best, report to a re-education camp. For the good of the country. Unless you're some kind of traitor to the ideals that make America great.

8. You'd think Richard Clarke would say something but last I heard
he's working on cyber security and that might involve government work, i.e., a bad time to criticize the government.

9. Sigggghhhh . . .

Yeppppp, that's what we do in Dumberica when a Republican does something illegal and treasonous.

If a Democrat did this, M$NBCNBCFOXNN would be broadcasting the criminal trials 24-7. It'd be bigger than O.J.

Funny how that works.

I have a feeling, though, you're looking at a thread longer than graywarrior's Lounge-everlasting one.
