3 new senators to take office 2 months early
In DE, IL, & WV..The winner in each state will be able to start service during the lame duck period..Eveyone else Jan. 3

So it would be nice to get some judicial confirmations NOW :banghead: while we still have a 59-41 minority..

2. Maybe not IL, but the other ones, yes
In any case, the dynamics of the day after the election will be set by the margin of victory or defeat of each party. If there is a true tsunami, then I would expect most Democratic congresscritters to be scared shitless of doing anything that has President Obama's name on it.
