It is what it is! Neither side wants to win.
If it seems like neither the Democrats or Republicans are using winning strategies, it's because neither of them wants to win. Accept this fact and the current madness makes more sense.

Why don't they want to win? Because they know that the economy is not going to improve very much and neither side wants to take full blame. If they both hang around at fifty-fifty or so, they can still blame the other guys.

The Democrats know that they will never have enough power to ram through any stimulus that is big enough to help. The Republicans know that their ideas will only help the already rich.

Both sides are "rope a doping" until things stabilize, which may take many years. Then both sides can claim that their policies stopped the bleeding, but whoever has the edge at that point will get more credit.

I think that wages and housing prices will continue to plummet and the middle class will not be happy. But like it or not, that is the price of globalization. The glory days are over.

That's my theory and I'm sticking with it. And I'll continue to vote straight D because at least the Dems try to help the little guy.

1. I just said that a couple of days ago....
'It is what it is.' I think TPTB aided by the IMF are going to step it up a notch and put us in the 'Social Unrest' zone. I'm looking at Greece where they're starting it.

We're so over...but yep, I vote a straight Dem ticket as whole.

I've come to realize that TPTB aren't in it for the $$$....they already have all that. They're in for 'Social Control.' That is what they like...power over people. And unfortunately, they're all sadists.

2. My theory is
Republicans don't have anything to run on except to try and lay the blame all on president Obama and the democrats. They have no plan, they have no clue as to what needs to be done, and if they did get in control they still wouldn't have a clue!

As for democrats, well, they don't have the right leadership in congress. Now Reid may be alright as a senator, but he should NOT be the leader, he just can't get the democrats to work with him, and he doesn't seem to want to do anything right now that might be good for the country, like voting on the Bush tax cuts, instead he is to worried about his own re-election, just like other democrats who want don't want to have to vote on the Bush tax cuts! If they stood up for the people for a change instead of worrying about themselves, they would be doing what they are supposed to be doing.

One other problem that both sides have, republicans especially, is that they are bought an paid for by special interest groups, and they do the will of those groups instead of doing what is right for the people that put them in office, and the country!

As for the economy, I think it will get better, but it won't be easy to get things done if republicans take over one or both houses. I think the president has done a lot to get things back on track, and what people need to understand is Bush had 8 years to screw things up, and he did a bang up job of it. President Obama has had less than two years, and in that time has done a hell of a lot better than what some people give him credit for! What needs to done is for congress to stop playing politics and start working on the problems. Republicans are just sore losers and have done all they can to prevent any bills from going through that might actually help get us back on track. Some democrats are also not doing anything to help out. I think the president needs to get really tough on the democrats in congress, and stop trying to get republicans to play fair. We have a majority, but when some of the democrats won't go along with the rest of the party, we have to try and compromise to get a couple of republicans to help us out, and that isn't working very well. They only way we can make things better is to get rid of those who are in the pockets big business, and we do that during the primaries. Hell if the teabaggers can get their candidates elected during the primaries, why can democrats get "real" democrats elected during our primaries?

That's my theory anyway!

4. Maybe they simply don't know what to do
So they do nothing. Or they know what to do but want to wait till after the elections because of the reaction they'll get from the idiocratic teabaggerati.

I think it's possible the Obama team expected his stimulus would work much better than it has because in theory and on paper it should, but didn't count on the banks holding onto the money. The problem is it's working a little because instead of hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs every month it's way down to tens of thousands. That's an improvement but I think even the Obama Administration knows it isn't good enough.

Their decisions have been in the right ballpark, but not strong enough. They may think it's much safer to take small steps than to take really bold action. After all it might backfire on them, and then what?
