Pay attention to the private company aspect of this article. These are your schools, parents, and there will be more, much more of this in the future. They will hire firms that are completely out of touch with what education is or should be. 1 million tax dollars for chaos.

1. It's just going to get worse.
Privatizing the public schools is a bad idea. It just plain doesn't work, but why let actual facts sway us? :eyes:

2. I looked up the company that Detroit hired online. Completely inappropriate.

They handled busing for the district before and a kid was killed.

3. And I'm sure they want to spread this model nationally.
A lot of this was road-tested by the same people in Oakland, CA.

4. But...I thought just throwing money at education was a bad idea???

5. It depends on whose team you're throwing it for, I guess.
Team Privatization gets all the cheerleaders.

7. I so admire the teachers from Detroit I met this summer
They have a huge mess on their hands but have managed to keep the best interests of the kids ahead of the other silly issues.

8. This business outfit treats staff and kids like cargo.
Since this model of steamroller reform will be deemed successful, the same model will be used to rape us of our social security.
