I love Seth McFarlane, but he was just too polite and allowed these two morons to spew their junk unopposed tonight.

OBAMACARE?!?!? What the eff!!!

I would have let them speak for 10 minutes freely then ripped apart every one of their little talking points in 2 minutes top.

Someone tells Bill to invite Grayson next time.

4. Or Ed Schultz
I wonder when Bill will invite Ed, by the way. He should have done it years ago.

He's had Olbermann, Maddow and Tweety over quite a few times each.

Ed would just tear them apart there would be blood on the walls.

3. Correct.
Breitbart is a moron, and that Amy Holmes would have Dr Lightman, the human lie detector awesomely played by Tim Roth, jump off his chair from all the clues she gives about how aware she is of the total nonsense that comes out of her mouth.

8. The O'Donnell Clip
I think the larger disappointment was Bill's choice of this week's O'Donnell clip. Everyone knows most of the right-wing crazies agree with her opinion of Darwin's Theory of Evolution, so there will be little response from the exposure of that clip. The one about sex and high school students released earlier today will bring more reaction. I hope Bill does better next week, while the enthusiasm for his O'Donnell videos is still high.

18. It was a good clip. He only has what she gave over the years.
Plus it tied in well with having Sagan's wife on.

13. He was about the only one who made sense.
Unfortunately, he was talked over for most of the hour. The discussion of global warming with Ann Druyan was also a big shoutdown by Breitbart.

And then Maher tells Breitbart that he (Maher) was being polite by not bringing up race. Why the fuck not, Bill? You just proved your own point about the Left not being vocal enough against the Right! That would have been my first question out of the gate: Andrew, explain yourself.

The show was disappointing because the Right-wingers did their usual MO (talk loud and not make sense and count on people a) not noticing or b) not being able to respond over the yelling) and got away with it. Again. Maher was not on top of things last night.

Oh...and I didn't like the faux O'Donnell "Politically Incorrect" clip, either. Why hand out more free ammunition? Maher has enough real stuff on this woman rather than resorting to making stuff up.

15. Bullying it was... not talking over...
That's what they do. Ann Druyan obviously can't speak loudly, has some health issue, how easy it is to just wait your turn to speak? Well, not as easy as it is to speak over somebody weak.

17. I was disappointed in Seth.
His claim about why there are gaps in the fossil record didn't make sense and he didn't effectively respond to the response to his Venus example.

20. I think he was just trying to get a word in, edge or otherwise.
He wanted to make two points during that debate, and nobody -- even Maher -- wouldn't let him. I'm sure he would have fleshed things out had he been given a chance.

I hate it when talk shows go off the rails like that. Sets my teeth on edge. I gave serious thought to turning it off, but I wanted to see New Rules.

14. Disappointed with Bill Maher.....
Way too much dissing "wussy" Democrats. And lets conservatives talk over everyone.

And what's with that Breitbart not being called out for his bullshit lies that cost Mrs. Sherrod her job? His reward for that was an appearance on Bill Maher?

22. He's afraid that no Republicans will come on the show
If you saw the first part of the panel the only one who got any real applause was Seth McFarlane. All Bill would have to do is wave his pinky and the audience would tear into the other two fools.

23. Or maybe some conservative HBO shareholders complained
And Maher was asked to invite 2 conservatives and a cool liberal who he knows will not interfere too much.

McFarlane is a smart dude, but he's not going to take a stand, knowing that his show is on Fox for a starter and that actually quite a few conservatives watch it and enjoy it.
