So I just popped on the TV to get some news........
MSNBC: 2 women are giggling about why college students are searching the internet for spaghetti recipes and how to improve their love life. Yuk. I switch to CNN: two dudes are talking about the phenomenon of "Dad bloggers." I switched the TV off.

I don't bother to turn it on anymore. Oh last evening I watched Arlo Guthrie followed by Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. Now what was some good teevee right there. :hi:

edit: none for now

4. Wouldn't it be nice if CBS released the old Ed Sullivan shows?
I'm down to Keith, Rachel, and Turner Classic Movies.

15. Agree.
I usually watch MSNBC in the evening, occasionally Joe Coffee for entertainment in the morning. Haven't seen any CNN for years.

Right now we have 2 talking heads with annual salaries more than my lifetime salary talking about the economy and how the stock market is doing. My portfolio isn't doing so well cause I invested in some groceries yesterday.

9. On Fox the "A.M. 3 Stooges" were amazed that people considered Jon Stewart "news."
My hypocritic-radar caused my jaw to drop to the floor!

11. Best news of the 24 hour period
I've yet caught Stewart in a lie or misdirection and I can't say that for any of the others. Steven Colbert is not in the group of others either.

7. I switched on BookTv
and they were fawning over Laura Bush.

Do they even know that she is married to a notorious (un indited) war criminal?

18. Silly Wabbit.. Everyone knows that news doesn't happen on weekends.

The one that really makes my blood boil is how they have ruined the weather channel

There was a time when, no matter when you tuned in, you got weather...there was a permanent loop of locations & their weather..there was radar..there were rather ordinary-looking people at desks who reported the weather.. That's all they did..

Last weekend I was wondering about the Cat4 hurricane and all I ever found when I checked in were spliced-together "reports" on the 1969 tornadoes in Kansas, and other episodes of "When Weather Changed History"..

That station is little more than a place where old storm videos go be recycled

19. News: C-Span, PBS, NPR, Satellite Radio, Stewart & Colbert. The rest from internet.
Edited on Sat Sep-25-10 10:55 AM by northoftheborder
Weather from internet. If I didn't have U-verse, I'd consider dropping television receptiion altogether, and get all I wanted from internet.

23. Yes, they DID report on Lohan last week. I was jarred.
Seriously, I thought "I cant believe my weather channel mentioned this. About a year ago I emailed them about the annoying drum-heavy rock music in the background of their opening sequences. You couldn't even hear the voices over the music. They did tone that down a little. I'll bet Bill Keneely is having nightmares.

Maybe other readers of this thread can try it, too.
