US National Debt Graph: What They Never Tell You
New: National-debt slide show. PDF
http://zfacts.com/p/318.html

The National Debt — Where Did it Come From?
In 1981, the country had just elected Reagan to cure the "all-time-high, Trillion-Dollar debt." But compared with the size of the American economy, the debt was at its lowest point in fifty years (see graph). Reagan was duped by the "supply siders" and his "greatest disappointment" was adding $1.6 trillion to the debt.
The new zFacts slide show (info page, PDF) tells the amazing story of how supply siders have used the Republican Party to add $9.2 trillion to the debt and are now using the fear of that debt to derail the recovery.

US-National-Debt-GDP

The green line shows what would have happened if Reagan and the Bushes had just kept the debt growing at the same rate as the economy. That would make their parts flat. Many conservatives claim Congress increased Reagan's budgets, but this is not the case as you can see documented here.

6. What kills me is that so many people say "I'm fiscally conservative, that's why I vote Republican."
Hell, we're ALL fiscally conservative! No one wants to waste money on programs that don't work, etc. I think they understand "fiscally conservative" to mean 'less taxes" but don't understand the ramifications.

10. You look at the $ record, and republicons are not at all 'conservative'
Republicons are borrow-and-spend FAIL freaks. They just use the word 'conservative' as an occult smokescreen to cover up their profligacy and greed and FAIL.

It's similar to the way they use the word 'conservative' to describe their 'values' while in reality they are running around having wide-stance diaper sex in public bathrooms with faux lesbian hooker rentboy luggage handlers.

I mean, that may be fab fun for Republicons and all (whatever floats their yachts), but no steenkin way is it 'conservative.'

11. I remember a caller to a radio station saying that his dad always said when the
Democrats were in charge he made money, and lost money when the Republicans where at the helm, so he always voted for Democrats. That's all people really need to realize.

12. So why, when the "fiscally conservative Republicans" ran the whole show
with the White House, the House, the Senate, etc., with willing Dems and significantly less filibustering (and when there were, the media went along with the concerns over "nuclear options"), did the country go to hell in a cheap Chinese made handbasket financially, if all the conservatives were in charge?

5. Their long term plan is becoming very obvious.
Systematically destroy America, and then buy it for pennies on the dollar.

8. If Regan and the Bushes had kept the debt consistent you wouldn't have that uptick with Obama
since most of that is due to the carry over from Bush and his disastrous economic policies
