Poacher killed by great white shark |
|
Khanyisile Momoza, 29, was attacked as he harvested valuable perlemoen shells in the waters near Gansbaai in South Africa. The fisherman was among a group of 12 poachers who had tried to swim to safety after spotting the shark in shallow waters. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/southafrica/8024829/Poacher-killed-by-great-white-shark.html

3. I know I might catch hell for this |

But good! I don't care who he was--poachers are evil. And I hope many, many more of them, in every possible location in the world where poaching goes on, gets killed in similar fashion. Too many tigers, leopards, bears, narwhals, rhinos, and more are murdered by poachers. I only wish there was a stiffer penalty for all of them out there. Animals are helpless against brutes who murder without conscience.

casual fisherman to harvest, without making even a dent in the perlemoen population. I feel sorry for the indigenous people being denied something because of white greed. Now, these are really bad poachers - absolutely horrific. http://www.rhinoconservation.org/2010/09/22/south-africa-veterinarians-safari-operators-professional-hunter-allegedly-behind-hundreds-of-rhino-poaching-incidents/The ringleader owned seven farms and property along the coast.

Admittedly, endangered shellfish, but still, that's a depressingly petty thing to get eaten alive for.
Oh well, I suppose the shellfish contribute to the environment.
