On Washington this week tonight on PBS they talked about McCain and the immigration bill |
and i learned a few things i wasn't aware of, they said that even though McCain had his photo-op with the other co-sponsor he actually wasn't involved in negotiating anything because he's been on the campaign trail, also they said that Pelosi and Emmanuel told Bush that they won't bring it to the floor unless Bush has at 60 to 70 republicans that will vote yes and from what the people on Washington week were saying, there is no way thats going to happen and the chance of this bill hitting the floor are very low. So it lookes even if it were to get to th floor it will not pass.

1. Yes, I heard that Harry Reid was pissed that McCain has missed so many |
votes in the Senate, and then "parachutes" in for the PRESSER, not the actual negotiations for the bill he was so involved in previously--he had Jon Kyl and Lindsay Graham acting for him. Deeply uncool! This will haunt him should he become the nominee, methinks. I didn't know the bill was unlikely to pass--hey, the prez likes it! Isn't that good enough for the lockstep GOPers? How come they only stick with him when our troops are pointlessly dying? But little brown Mexicans roofing and picking lettuce--for that they will break ranks...
