...

http://www.swrnn.com/southwest-riverside/2010-09-25/news/los-angeles-county-authorities-ask-help-in-finding-missing-south-gate-teacher

ABC7 reported tonight that he was under job stress. He is one of the LAUSD teachers who had test data published recently.

2. Local ABC television news did a story on this...
...tonight. They had an interview with his family (a brother, I think). He was almost in tears. He said his brother had been under terrible stress at work since the LA Times published the data on teachers. (He was judged non-effective.) The hurt in his voice was so sad.

This is why we can't give up. What is happening to teachers is just plain CRUEL.

5. It is...
...and I will. I hope he is okay. When I heard the report tonight I just wished I could talk to him so he'd know other teachers care. It is so sad.

4. Oh, God! That has me in tears....
I can only hope beyond hope he is ok and a lesson is learned by those who have taken to blaming teachers for all the woes in our educational system.

6. So do I. It is cruel to target teachers...
...for what needs fixing in schools.

12. I don't know about this system,
but I wish we could apply it to politicians.

7. Would that the Goldman Sachs employees who tanked the economy were published as "ineffective"
But no, the LA Times and the media in general are picking on teachers who deal with the broken and impoverished society created by Wall Street greed and the policies of their whores in Congress. Eli Broad, Bill Gates, Walton family and the LA Times, if this man has done something drastic, you all have blood on your hands.

10. Even the Bush administration did not attack teachers the way
this administration has. And it is not only teachers who have been put under stress by Arne Duncan/Bush policies, soon we will be hearing about children who are unable to take the stress of a system that does nothing but test.

On the bright side, the Educational Publishing Corps have made a furtune and continue to do so since NCLB was implemented.

I hope this teacher is okay but we are living in a very cruel and failed society right now.

17. This is horrible.
The poor man spent years educating himself to become a teacher, and dedicated himself to the neediest students. He could have taught in a more affluent area, and higher test scores would have been automatic. This is the thanks he gets for his service? He trains for years, lives in quarters most professionals would be leery of visiting, and now?
