Sorry Steny--- you're more embarrassing.

A top House Democrat said Sunday that TV comic Stephen Colbert's in-character testimony at a congressional hearing Friday was "an embarrassment" to the comedian and wrong for the House.

"His testimony was not appropriate. I think it was an embarrassment for Mr. Colbert more than the House," said House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer, Maryland Democrat, on "Fox News Sunday."

2. Not to mention publicly embarrassing a member of his own caucus,
the chair of the subcomittee who invited Colbert. What the hell is wrong with our DEM "leadership?" They seem to think they can ingratiate themselves with Faux news by saying this kind of shit....

5. Hey- we agree!
Kinda wish Colbert had a say way back when Steny was joining up with Republicans and pushing legislation that led to the S & L Crisis.

6. Democrats who pretend to represent us and go on to
Fox News to agree with them are the biggest embarassment to any real, living, and breathing Democrat. The separation between us and our representatives is an intolerable condition of living in the US these days.

8. Obviously, Steny wasn't amused

and it's funny he's feigning concern that Colbert embarrassed himself. He's just pissed a comedian came into the House and, in character, gave testimony that cut too close to the bone. Truth hurts.

11. Hoyer is becoming an embarassment for the Democratic Party.
It was more disgusting to see him a couple of weeks ago
looking as if he was being forced to say Social Security
should be on the table for cuts. This was a Capital Hill Presser
and he looked as if he was saying something he did not believe.
Hemming and Hawing--disgusting.

Fox always gets him when they cannot or want someone different
from Lieberman.

12. Colbert made people uncomfortable....
and that is a good thing. I went to the Rosa Parks Museum yesterday (wonderful place) ...in the short beginning film, people spoke of "knowing their place" and I thought of Colbert at the Congressional hearings... so many still want people to "know their place"... it may not always be people of color; it is also position in society or economic status... Colbert was irreverent and some think he was out of line; I say thank you Stephen Colbert
