It makes no sense, the Dems have a golden opportunity to cast a clear distinction beween us nad the repukes, yet its seems as though they will let yet another opportunity slip away.

1. Because the Blue Dogs and
conservadems don't see it as politically wise for them so the rest of the party can lose. The world of the democratic party today revolves around them.

3. The wisdom of fear and alienation. Dems gain no points. Harry Reid is still a p. o. s.
What a spineless traitor, imho, sacrificing our greater good to placate a couple of invertebrate blue dogs.

4. Do I really need to tell you?
If that were to happen, it would be because both Parties want it to happen but they want their supporters to think otherwise...

5. Because there is a large number of more conservatvie Democrats...
that will be hurt by the accuastion that they raised taxes. The message won't be, they cut taxes for 95% of all Americans. It own't be that they raised taxes only on the rich. It will be they raised taxes.

Most of the media is in the firm control of conservatvies. Contrary messages, such as those we sometimes here from Olberman or Rachel do not play in many places.

Democrats want to retain control rather than have a pyric victory.

That, and I don't think they could pass it now, certainly not in the Senate and likly not in the Hosue.

I doubt if they will pass in in a lame duck session.

6. Because this country has one political product, with two types of marketing.
The political establishment wants to continue the tax cuts for the wealthy. They're owned by the wealthy.
