"Just say no to everything" republicans.... |
|
What a strategy! It must have taken all their collective brains to come up with it!
It is wrong. It is soooo wrong. Obviously these congressmen don't feel they represent all Americans or they would vote accordingly.
So, since they did it, should we retaliate in the same fashion if and when they gain control? Doing unto them as they have done to us seems fair, but would it be any less wrong?
I see no alternative but to reciprocate when the time arises. And, this only exacerbates things even more. Stalemate is a lose/lose for Americans, yet so many republicans believe this is a good strategy. Are they stupid? Do they not realize that coin flips both ways?
What do you think? Should we consider it?

Since the GOP thinks "Just saying NO" is their best option. I say we follow their lead, because we all know the GOP is never wrong. So "Just SAY NO" voting for GOP candidates.

3. And It's Been Working... |
|
We see it here. Many are upset with this administration putting through watered down legislation but it was due to the GOTB osbstructionism. Reid was rolled from the outset in getting anything on the Senate floor that didn't require 60 votes and this led to the gridlock as many of the bills being passed in the more progressive House ended up DOA in the Senate. The President attempted to be above it all...trying to get moderate rushpublicans and blue dog democrats to go along and was played like a violin at critical times. It's led to this administration being seen as weak and inefective and has turned off many within the Democratic party that felt he had sold out and the moderates who see him as ineffective.
The basic problem is the Democrats and their base have disconnected. There are too many inside the beltway who look to the money first and the vote second. They spend a majority of their time fundraising cause it costs so much for our endless campaigns (and sure to get even more expensive) and only after they've secured the money and nomination, then the voters matter. The priorities inside the beltway are totally screwed and subsequently so are we.
In '06 & '08 we had a vibrant netroots that was busy fundraising, working the campaigns and very energized. That's not happening this year for a myriad of reasons and this is why the Democrats will face rough times on Election Day and the progressive movement will take a hit as well. The lesson from the teabaggers...the only one...is how staying involved and energized can push the party to pay more attention and to get voters and politicians more connected. My hopes are that the administration also takes heed as they saw how their compromising cost them a majority and their base.
Cheers...

4. Remember Republicans entire premise is that Government does not work |
|
They will set abut proving that at every single opportunity. Why should Democrats go along with a Republican plan on anything that will hurt average Americans? Just like why would Republicans go along with anything Democrats propose that will show Government works?
