his victims while they were still minors, but that he didn't actually have sex with them until they were over the age of 16, so that technically he couldn't be charged with pedophilia.

In which case, then yes, it would probably be gay sex.

4. The real danger is that by labelling what he is accused of

as "gay sex" it draws a great deal of the sting of what he is really accused of - statutory rape and/or abuse of a minor. It's a lot easier to argue that he shouldn't be severely punished for what a majority of Americans now believe should not be a crime than it is to argue in defense of an alleged statutory rapist.

I think as someone said the age of consent in GA is 16 so he can't be criminally charged. He of course abused his authority and position of trust as a mentoring adult targeting teens.

I think there may be questions as to whether he had sex with any of the accusers while out of GA state where there may have been stipulations to the age of consent regarding the age difference between the partners. ie. a 16 and 19 year old is legal. where a 16 and 38 year old is illegal. I don't think such details have been clarified yet.

I can't stand it when they twist the facts and slander gay people like that.

According to the SPLC, "Long is one of the most virulently homophobic black leaders in the religiously based anti-gay movement."

There is no way he should ever be associated with gay people in any way shape or form.
