Do national politicians have a good grasp on how much more conditions will deteriorate |
|
if a largely RW agenda continues to implemented, the continued tax breaks for the most affluent and large corporations with a concomitant gutting of social security as lagniappe, all at a time of burgeoning Federal debt and two wars raging? Just how much more will unemployment, underemployment, poverty, homelessness, lack of access to medical care, et al spiral as more and more people are unable to provide for their basic necessities and thereby keep a consumer economy afloat, as all of this will necessarily feed upon itself? These are some of the seeming realities of continuation of a largely RW agenda, such the pubs new contract on America, all to seemingly be aided and abetted by willing blue-dog types.

1. I think most of them are either so old they believe they will die before things get bad, or |
|
else they believe they will be raptured away before things get bad, or they believe they will themselves be insulated from anything bad happening to them since they have money.
In other words, they don't give a fig about the rest of us or how bad things get.

By sucking up to their corporate owners they think they have job security should they lose an election.
Heck, a great many are only in Congress to move up into the more lucrative lobbyist business after they put in a few years.
They dont care, thats not what they're in Congress for.

5. Of course they do. But they are not |
|
affected by unemployment, underemployment, poverty, homelessness, lack of access to medical care, so to them it's irrelevant.

I think some of the blue-collars are being misled into thinking that having the republicans control Congress will fix everything. To me, people who are believeing the BS are not very well educated on government and politics then there is a huge gap to the well educated and rich who want to protect their interrests and money so they support the Republicans who want the same. I find it disgusting that Republicans think they are in tune with the real American people. If they were so in tune they would be working with Democrats so I and everyone else can get a job and not have debt piling up. It is suppose to be a government for the people, by the people. However, we have people in power that refuse to act in the interest of the people. We need a change in Congress and a change in the American mindset.

Because they never personally experienced it in the past. That is why they do not care and don't bother.
