What's up with Bill Maher and the O'Donnell tape? |
|
Does he have a vendetta? Did she not let him boink her when she was on his show those many years ago?
Today it was a tape of her denying the existence of evolution.

3. That was shown on his Friday show... |
|
Why? Ratings. Attention. He admitted he was going to do so each week until she came on his show. Given the "gift" he has in his vaults that has made his show the talk of the town for weeks, would you think any of our current crop of talk show hosts would NOT do the same?

5. I believe if Maher isn't careful, he might end up |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-27-10 05:03 PM by Uncle Joe
turning O'Donnell in to a martyr and she will start getting a sympathy vote.
O'Donnell has a couple of things in her favor, she's attractive and she has a bubbly personality, and next to her, Maher will come across as vindictive. Forget the cultural attacks whether it was O'Donnell's "youthful dabbling in witchcraft" or her *denial of the existence of evolution.
*I know some people will argue this isn't cultural, it's just fact versus fiction, but for the sake of politics it will be viewed as cultural
Indeed her denial of evolution will ingratiate her with some of the same people turned off by her "dabbling in witchcraft."
She should be criticized for her political stance on the critical economic issues of the day, because I believe it's just more of the same trickle down crap which has all but driven the nation off the economic cliff.
O'Donnell's political beliefs would only do more to enrich the already wealthy while the nation becomes bankrupt and I believe that's what the attack should be focused on.
Thanks for the thread, Stinky.

I don't know what his motivation is, but he giving her the same treatment that the right wing gives Obama, taking anything she has done or said in the past and assuming that it is all relevant now. People do it to the President because he is black; they can do it to her because she is a tea partier.

12. What people say and do in the past is most definitely relevant now.. |
|
It provides a better understanding of where a person comes from. No one should be allowed to run for any Federal Office without people knowing about their past.

7. He basically discovered her |
|
She was the conservative punching bag on many an episode. Why she wants to avoid these shows now is pretty obvious.

8. I generally agree with his politics, but there does seem to be a subtle misogynist streak in him. |

9. What's up with having a "journalist" on? |
|
I'm still trying to understand why he had well-known fraud, Breitbart, on - identified as a journalist - and basically let him spew his garbage unchallenged. How Maher could have this guy on and not call him out is beyond me.

11. He is a misogynist but that has nothing to do with her insanity or him airing these tapes. |
|
And why would you say a vendetta? She was on his show. She made the nutso comments. He's doing the world a favor by letting us see how truly nuts she is. How is that misogyny?
