Did Webster really say "wife must submit to her husband"?
I believe he did, but I just got an email from faccheck states the video was manipulated and that Webster never said anything of the kind. This is in an ad by Alan Grayson where Webster is running against him in Fl.

2. If he is a Religious Right-Winger
it is part of their preaching. A lot of Baptist Minister still preach that verse from the Bible.
My Father-in-law who is now retire still believes in that verse..
His four daughters still are very upset over his preaching and refuse to attend the serves..

The verse can be found in the bible.
EPHESIANS Chapter5 Verse 22-24

But if you read on it also men are to love their wives Verse 25-31

Hope this help you understand how some Religious Right believe

It's not a new idea.

- In fact, it's partly what makes them Fundies.....

5. I went to FactCheck and they give the entire quote from Webster (although not
on video), and according to the text, that's not what Webster is advising. There are other ads against Webster that have been Fact Checked, too.

6. Why does Grayson feel the need to stretch the truth in his ads?
Only candidates who think they're going to lose do this. I hope Grayson doesn't believe he's losing this campaign.

8. Agree. Good point. Although Grayson DOES love the drama, there's plenty of
other stuff he could have chosen that he wouldn't have had to "rewrite". Disappointing, both about him and maybe that he might be concerned about his reelection.

7. Wow, reading the transcript made my eyes pop.
Grayson really bent the truth on that one.

Still, Webster's a scumbag and it's about time the GOP got a taste of their own fear and smear tactics for once, even if it is a dirty way to win.

9. I just hope it doesn't mean he thinks he's struggling...
It does seem a bit desperate, which is why Republicans typically result to that crap.

11. i think Grayson just likes to mess with Republicans this way
i don't think he is afraid at all. but he really shouldn't do this even though he might be enjoying it.

he could still do similar things with the truth.

10. If Webster didn't say it . . .
It would be easy enough for him to publicly deny that that does not represent his views on marriage. I wonder if he would dare to?

12. Hey, there's nothing wrong with a wife being submissive to her husband.
As long as HE takes a his fair share of turns being submissive. It keeps things "fun".

Oh, wait - was he thinking on a medieval level? That's just wrong.

14. If Webster is associated with IBLP
he believes it and lives it. That is part of the core principles, submission to authority. Children must submit completely to parents (no matter what), wives completely submit to husbands (no matter what, even in abuse), men submit to their pastors no matter what, etc.

16. The Koch brothers are pulling out all the stops on this campaign.
They're determined to put Grayson out to pasture no matter what.

17. Grayson just put
himself out to pasture. He just tossed his seat to the repugs and the Koch brothers can take their resources elsewhere. Brilliant.
