Energize me: when Rahm leaves, appoint Howard Dean to the job.
Don't get me wrong, I'm voting straight Dem, and I always vote. It's my duty. It also took us decades to get where we are, so logically it's going to take more than a half-term to get us out of it.

However, Howard Dean is a huge talent that is being squandered by the White House.

It'll probably never happen, but having Dean in the White House would sure make me a happy camper - you know, the whole "Team of Rivals" thing.

:)

PS: I think the 10.2.10 Rally + the Colbert/Stuart rallies are really going to fire us up, too. I may not be happy with everything, but after surviving the 8 years of HELL with Bush, there's no way I'm ever going to go back to that without a fight.

1. I am going to vote, and keep on fighting to make the elected "leaders" accountable to the people.

3. I'd rather see Howard Dean in a more productive role
than presidential guard dog. His considerable talents would be squandered horribly...not that I give this 'fantasy pick' even a 1-in-a-million chance anyway.

6. Great Idea
But it won't happen. Dean isn't afraid of confrontation, and if there's one thing that this White House doesn't do well, it's confrontation.

9. Won't happen. Dean represents the wrong side of Democratic Party.
The side that actually wants to *TAKE ON* the Republicans
and *KICK* their asses rather than kissing their asses.

10. Don't hold your breath.
I suspect Dr. Dean is persona non grata in this White House.

When Dick Morris is available?

12. I don't know that Dean is really the WHCoS type.
I'd sure love to see him at HHS, though.

13. I don't know that
HE would actually take the job - but I gotta, gotta, rec this.

Dean is more of Grayson, Weiner, Wasserman-Schult type.

14. That would be a great move.
Hence it will never happen.

But one can hope.

15. If that were to happen, we would win the mid-terms in a landslide, as well as 2012.
It would fire up Democrats everywhere except for the Lieberman supporters and the Blue Dog "Democrats".

16. Should Obama perhaps ask Howard Dean if he wants the job first?
Maybe check to see if he has the necessary abilities to work with Congress and direct a staff of like 1500 employees?
