Iglesias Meeting With WH Investigators-Transcript Reveals Rove's Involvement
http://thinkprogress.org/2007/05/19/iglesias-meets-with-white-house-investigators/

Iglesias meets with White House investigators. Fired U.S. Attorney David Iglesias held a three-hour meeting this week with the staff of the Office of Special Counsel, which last month launched “a broad investigation into key elements of the White House political operations that for more than six years have been headed by chief strategist Karl Rove.” Iglesias also reveals:

Weeks before the 2006 midterm election, …Iglesias was invited to dine with a well-connected Republican lawyer in Albuquerque, N.M., who had been after him for years to prosecute allegations of voter fraud.

“I had a bad feeling about that lunch,” says Iglesias, describing his meeting at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen with Patrick Rogers, a former counsel to the New Mexico Republican Party.

..............

Unbeknownst to Iglesias, a few months before that lunch, Rogers and another Republican attorney from New Mexico, Mickey Barnett, had complained about Iglesias at the Justice Department in Washington. The session was arranged with the assistance of the department’s then-White House liaison, Monica M. Goodling, and an aide to White House political strategist Karl Rove, according to e-mails released recently by congressional investigators.

One of those they met with was Matthew Friedrich, a senior counselor to Gonzales. Friedrich would meet again with Rogers and Barnett in New Mexico, where, he told congressional investigators, the pair complained about Iglesias. They made it clear “that they did not want him to be the U.S. attorney…. They mentioned that they had communicated that with Sen. Domenici, and they also mentioned Karl Rove,” Friedrich said, according to a transcript provided by congressional investigators.

2. On the Fattening of the Sacrificial Lambs, and the Chief Sheeople Herder.
It is important to keep the wide-angle lens in easy reach today. I wrote this for another thread on Palast, but it really applies well here too, albeit Schmitt does not come off as a Sheeople Herder. He just has his telescopic lens on, and has admirable focus and clarity.

====================================================
There seems to be a con in progress in Washington DC. So, What's new? you ask. This time they seem to be preparing for the eventual demise of the regime of corruption. The "fall guys" are being fattened, and this time the level of finesse is outlandish. Fattening in nothing new in DC, especially at the porker's feed trough. This time they are fattening the sacrificial lambs, both people AND issues. Now we have both 'fall guys" and "fall issues." The sacrificial lamb getting the most feed right now is "voter fraud." And now, one of the chief sheeople herders feeding this lamb is Grag Palast. He is also feeding the Rove lamb, instead of pointing to "The Decider."

Palast writes, ".. the reason my book was subpoenaed is that it has to do with the US prosecutor firings. The prosecutor firings were 100% about influencing elections -- not about loyalty to Bush, which is what The New York Times wrote."

We have seen, in recent developments, that USAs-Gate is a far broader issue, as are the investigations by the Congressional Committees. More USAs were on the list than those indicated as fired in relation to "influencing elections." The "voter fraud" issue ia a sacrificial lamb, touted by the spin-doctors to cover-up larger, brewing political scandals. McNulty's recent resignation places a spotlight on corporate fraud charging. Carol Lamb was a threat to one of the largest and influential health care corporations, Tenet Healthcare. This context has been ignored with regard to the Sampson memo.

Tenet was facing, on May 10, a (quoting Kyle Sampson's May 11 e-mail) "real problem we have right now with Carol Lam"
May 10, 2006 - Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services seeks to cut off all Medicare payments to Tenet, the ultimate $$$ punishment.
May 11, 2006 - Kyle Sampson e-mails deputy White House counsel William Kelley, re "the real problem we have right now with Carol Lam ....

This seems more like an influence peddling scam. Tenet changed lobbyists in 2006, paying $360,000 to (former RNC chairman, Bush-pick) Gillespie's lobbying firm to go to bat in DC. So, why is Sampson e-mailing the White House about 'real problem--right now' Carol Lam the day after HHS says the Fed money faucet is going to be turned off for Tenet, a corporate death knell?

Palast should read this investigatory compilation thread,
US Attorney Firing: Voter Fraud, Medicare Fraud, WHICH IS IT ???
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...
Therein, one fraud focus is Tenet Healthcare's fraud litigation timeline in relation to the USA firings.

Herein, the fraud focus shifts to the #1 Company, HCA, to ALL the others, and to how they get away with defrauding the People:
30 U.S. attorneys investigate BILKING BILLIONS, Medicare, Medicaid, Military’s Healthcarehttp://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=vi...

There were 30 USAs investigating Medicare fraud, and, as recently revealed, there were 26 USAs on the Sampson list at one point.
Within days after Carol Lam's firing, the corporate fraud charging ability of USDAs was curbed by McNulty. See:

New DOJ Guidelines Tone Down Corporate Fraud Prosecutions - 12/22/2006
http://www.itbusinessedge.com/item/?ci=22930
With Richard Cellini, attorney and Integrity Interactive vice president.

Question: What is the Thompson Memo? Why is it problematic?
Cellini: The U.S. Department of Justice is the primary law enforcement arm of the U.S. government... The department frequently indicts corporate executives who have broken the law in their capacity as company officers.....

Palast should read this investigatory compilation thread also, wherein, the fraud focus shifts to the #1 Company,
HCA, to ALL the others, and to how they get away with defrauding the People.:

The fall is in sight, and just like with Iran-Contra, the boss is being protected by the fall guys. What is new today is how complex the scandals are, how multitudinous they are, and how there is a concerted effort to lead the sheeople to the wrong issues, to hide the true corruptions and not just save the boss. If the sheeople do not break from the flock, the fleecing will just carry on as usual as we feast on the sacrificial lambs.

=============================

Iglesia seems to be the one USA firing that is truly all about rigging New Mexico elections. And, Rove is not The Decider on this one. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but haven't the Republican Sheeople Herders been whistling this talking point with vigor, "They serve at the pleasure of the President."

4. Monica Goodling gets her Boyfriend job as Assistant US Attorney!!!!
On my website I've exposed Monica Goodling and her boyfriend/
Assistant US Attorney for Virginia Richard Parker (with 5
pictures).... (she most likely got him the job)

Its already been reported that the US Attorney for Western Virginia,
John Brownlee, was the FIRST name on the list of 5 possible candidates
for firing ......

... Perhaps it would be pertinent to ask how Goodling's boyfriend got
the job as Assistant U.S. Attorney... and perhaps it might be a good
time to figure out why the US Attorney from Virginia (a battleground
state) was put on the termination list....
