Health care didn't go far enough? Not moving fast enough on repealing DADT?. . . |
|
. . .does it really make sense to stay home and empower the folks who will repeal healthcare and stop the repeal of DADT?

2. I'm beginning to think DADT repeal is being dangled in front of us... |
|
...like a juicy steak in front of a slobbering, hungry dog. Forcing us to follow along. "Just keep following. We'll give you that juicy steak in just a few minutes... or next week... or next year... or never.
At what point am I allowed to demand action?

3. Why does that matter if the Dems themselves won't work to repeal DADT |
|
and won't propose or fight for genuine health care reform? You're still eating the same shit sandwich, just served by a different waitress.

5. well if your gay and still can't serve in the military |
|
or still don't have any health care access. What would be the difference to you? It makes sense to run on the things you did that you think are great. It doesn't make sense to run on things not done. At least when you are the party in power. Democratic candidates would be smart to run on things they actually did, and run against things Republicans would do if placed in power. Democratic candidates would be wise to not remind people of the things they didn't do but had the chance to do.

7. You do know that the "folks who will repeal healthcare and stop the |
|
repeal of DADT" are...well...put it this way.
NEITHER side is going to repeal DADT. Not until we have progressives running things, which means...never.
The anti-HCR people - Boehner, particularly - have said they will repeal the 'socialist' bill, but keep those parts that people like. Since there is nothing remotely socialist about the bill, that means they will simply re-brand this REPUBLICAN legislation as their own and claim they reformed healthcare, which will be no more true then than it is now. They just want to get Obama's name off of it.
Does it really make any difference if we are ruled by Republican anti-progressives or Democratic anti-progressives? They are doing the same fucking thing.
Don't try to scare me with what the Repukes will do, when the Dems are already doing it.
