Free Republic's get well wishes for hospitalized Jimmy Carter

Send him to Cuba — they have free healthcare there.

This is good for me because the Lord is trying to teach me to pray for my enemies.

I wish Jimmuh a speedy return to full health.

The last thing we need is for the Democrats to be given a gift of his passing to sway voters with before November 2.

And, don’t doubt for a minute they would capitalize on such news.

Edited on Tue Sep-28-10 04:27 PM by Amerigo Vespucci
Thank you for giving me an opportunity to address this...and thank you also for "getting it." I'm shining a light on the heartless pigs at F.R....that's it.

I respect the rights of people to piss and moan about how seeing this stuff messes up their beautiful mind and how they don't consider it welcome in their own personal bubble.

It never ceases to amaze me when I see people who are not the owners of this Website lay out a list of demands regarding what shall or shall not be posted here. DU is a Website dedicated to political discussion. That means there are ugly things that come up in the conversation. The freepers' response to President Carter's health is one of them. It's a discussion. On a political Website. No one has a gun pointed at their head, forcing them to participate.

As always, I am 100% OK with people hiding my threads and/or putting me on ignore. In fact, I encourage it, if it makes them feel better.

I want to keep a spotlight focused on Free Republic as a hate site, a home for...as you say...heartless pigs.

If anyone here doesn't like that, well...see above.

"Was it wrong to pray for the destruction of Hitler in 1942?"
Really? Carter being compared to Hitler? These are people that need hate. They aren't happy unless they have a boogeyman to direct their self loathing unto.

Right, because Faux didn't have week-long Reagan telethons when he took a dirt nap. And ONCE again, there IS NO LIBERAL MEDIA! Go fist yourselves, you lemming lapdog fucksticks.

"2nd worst president ever" Carter had greater job creation numbers than Reagan's first term. I'll give the Freepsucks five minutes to fret and fume at the screen over this fact.

20. I'm not defending anyone...
I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of this post. The moral relativism associated with dancing on the graves of people we disagree with is disgusting.

And by the way, as much as I dislike Stevens, the charges against him were eventually thrown out.

23. If you don't like grave dancing, don't click on those posts.
BTW, those charges were thrown out due because the prosecutors botched their case, not because Stevens was innocent.

And yet once again, what the hell did Jimmy Carter do to get your panties in a wad??

27. Carter did nothing to get my panties in a wad...
I think he is a great man and got blamed for a lot of stuff that was not his fault when he was President. This has nothing to do with Carter or even specifically Stevens.

In our system if the charges are thrown out, you are innocent.

12. Any millionaire who had to pay any taxes at all
In Freeperland, millionaires are better than we are. To paraphrase Ernest Hemingway, that's because they have money. This makes the "producers."

In the real world, America was in better shape when the producers (the actual producers, that is) had an easier time joining labor unions.

Yes, if all us lefties live to be 150, we will be very happy to see the fruit of our works: free public health care will come in very handy and health insurance racketeers like Cigna and WellPoint will have long since gone out of business.
