1. Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk

I heard an interview on NPR this morning with Sedaris and this book looks like it might be worth a read. Almost like a series of fables but not really.

I'll have to take a closer look when I get a chance.

on edit: From the Product Description

"Featuring David Sedaris's unique blend of hilarity and heart, this new collection of keen-eyed animal-themed tales is an utter delight. Though the characters may not be human, the situations in these stories bear an uncanny resemblance to the insanity of everyday life.

In "The Toad, the Turtle, and the Duck," three strangers commiserate about animal bureaucracy while waiting in a complaint line. In "Hello Kitty," a cynical feline struggles to sit through his prison-mandated AA meetings. In "The Squirrel and the Chipmunk," a pair of star-crossed lovers is separated by prejudiced family members.

With original illustrations by Ian Falconer, author of the bestselling Olivia series of children's books, these stories are David Sedaris at his most observant, poignant, and surprising."

2. I heard him on NPR too
I had to go to a home visit this morning, and I was stuck in the car listening.
My poor client was inside thinking, "What is the hold up?"

3. He read something on This American Life on Saturday, too.
I haven't heard it yet, but I saw the description in my podcasts folder yesterday.

5. We're going to see him speak next week :))))))
Next Monday, it'll be our 2nd time seeing him, I love him!
I don't have the new book yet, I'll get it soon as I can. If it's like the last time we saw him he'll be signing books in the lobby before the show, but I'm too bashful to talk to him  I do want to tell him how cool he is talking about NC though.. maybe I'll get my nerve up.
