Is Norman Goldman Wasting His Money?........ |
|
Listening to the Norm Man - he always touts how he donates money to the Dem candidates. Then he goes off on a rant about how bad Obama is and then highlights all of Obama's cave ins and failures. Sounds to me that he isn't protecting his investment when he gives money and then bashes the Dems.
He did this today on his show and I just had to bring this to DU's attention. I know he says he's an Independent - but with Dem leanings. He's acknowledged in the past how bad things will be if the Repugs take over the House, the Senate or both. Yet he continues to bad mouth Obama very persuasively. Seems counterproductive to me.
I just want to say to the Norm Man - if the Dems lose the House, the Senate or both - I don't want to hear one word of complaining out of your mouth - because in my opinion you would have contributed to their demise. If you don't like what is going on in D.C. today - you will certainly not like it if that happens.
Either you are for them or your against them - but don't keep on trying to confuse your listeners. You are the professional left that the WH was talking about - and you are talking out of both sides of your mouth - and it's probably for ratings.
Really, really - sad.

I have done progressive talk and certainly I would bring up the shortcomings of Democrats and Obama but I always tried to point to their successes as well. It is like this boss I had once, he would always tell us what a sorry bunch we were and how we were no good, but he sure didn't mind taking the free cruise he won because we were rated in the top 3 of the company. Some how his words never meant much to us after that.

2. Did you know that Norman has been trying to appeal to those in |

the base to not stay home on election day and vote because letting the Republicans back in charge would finish this country off? Uh, I guess you missed that part.

4. Yes - But Today He Was Again On A Rant On Obama's Failures and Cave In's....... |
|
That's what I mean. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. I know what I'm going to do on election day and that is to vote for Dems. Unfortunately - the calls that he took after his rant all agreed with him as to how deficient Obama is and in my humble opinion - that is confusing to a lot of people. So for as many people that he might get out to vote - I believe he is turning that many people off and that many of them will sit out the election. Net result - they will cancel each other out. That's why I'm saying he needs to get on one side and stick to it. If he really wants people to GOTV than don't keep bad mouthing Obama and the Dems. He's sending out a mixed message and I think that it is counterproductive.

3. Imo, he's the best liberal talker on the radio by far. |

Bashing Obama when it's warranted and supporting progressive ideals and candidates are not necessarily incongruent actions.

5. You Are Smart Enough To Be Able To Understand That - But Unfortunately......... |
|
there are many people out there that might not be able to sift through the mixed messages and I've used the term already - it's counterproductive. He needs to stay on message. At least through the election. I know that Obama is not up in Nov. - but - people might take the Obama bashing and transfer that to the Dem candidates. That's unfortunate.

6. I'm no rocket scientist. |

And Norm is a very plain spoken guy. I think he gets his messages across clearly. I think a large part of the problem is that people don't want to listen. And I think that, believe it or not, a lot of Democrats have a deep emotional attachment to Obama and it hurts them to hear him being criticized, so they just shut down. My feeling about Norm is that we're lucky to have a guy who is a deep thinker, who pretty much knows exactly what's going on, sitting there in front of a microphone spouting out truths over the air waves night after night with no real agenda mind you other than explaining to people what the deal is. He's taking the horse to water. I'll take that and run with it. I just hope he doesn't get frustrated explaining the same basic points to people over and over again.
