Photos from TIME: Al Gore's American Life/Questionable

This montage shows me that his life has finally come full circle. And since he is not a political candidate I don't intend to sit in judgement of the last photo here as I am sure others will, especially since he has already explained very clearly how he offets his usage. I just looked at these photos to reminisce (and some are sad to look at) and to now support the man in his current endeavors, but more importantly to support the message he is bringing which seems to be getting lost in all of the noise. Interesting choices too. I wonder why certain ones were picked by TIME if they indeed had sole discretion. Especially the last one.

4. Mainstream media is big media. I smell 'audience priming'.
So who's paying?

And why?

And a photograph does speak 1,000 words - all of which are being deliberated in a different thread. (I know the message, the words. We also see the actions and how they don't necessarily add up. It cannot be pawned off. Otherwise we could all do the same excess and end up creating an even larger mess. ;) )

All that aside, it was a good read and reminiscing.

6. I thought of that too
By doing this he is actually part of the media he excoriates in his new book The Assault oin Reason. While I wholeheartdly enjoyed these photos which was why I posted them, I don't know, I also hope that the message he brings does not wind up getting lost in the publicity.

7. Our Rightful President
Great series. But the ones with Liberworm are hard to look at. I never will understand how Gore decided that Joe would be the best VP candidate. He brought nothing to the table.

8. They should have shown more pictures of his current work
His many trips around the world with heads of state meeting about this crisis, his Climate Project, etc., and showing the progress he is making. Hopefully he will be writing more about that in his new book Solutions which is said to be a sort of follow up to An Inconvenient Truth which is slated to come out in September. It's time to look towards the future.

take his rightful place in the White House.

I hope Sandra Day O'Connor chokes on her decision every day she wakes up.

10. Well, I'm into doing all I can to save this planet now
Edited on Sat May-19-07 12:04 PM by RestoreGore
Dwelling on that solves nothing at this point, especially since the people of this nation allowed them to get away with it. Hopefully, we won't allow them to now get away with totally destroying our ability to live on this planet, but with all of the talk here only surrounding his computer set up I suppose the diversion is complete. I wonder if TIME actually did that deliberately to give the exact impression it will more than likely give to many... their intimation by it that he really is not environmentally aware and only doing this publicity to sell himself. That is why while I enjoyed the pictures, I still wonder about their motivations for picking the ones they did and if he had any hand in selecting them, because it boggles my mind that he would continually open himself up to this crappy diversionary criticism that is sure to come down on him again... unless this is his way of telling people he isn't running so he doesn't have to be concerned with what the critics think.

17. What's to explain?
My guess is all that paper is already recycled as he always responds to letters on recycled paper. The computer is being run by green energy in which he invests in, and basically, unless you want him to become a hermit riding a bike living in a mud hut, technology is how communication and research is done. Are the screens a bit much? Perhaps, but I consider that since the man has already done so much to bring this crisis to the forefront, he of all people deserves to have what he needs to continue his work. At least he knows how to use it effectively. This is why I question TIME using this photo, because people with nothing else to discuss regarding all of our part in trying to solve this crisi will do nothing but rehash this garbage all over again even after it being explained.

18. I see nothing wrong with the photo.......
his office looks like mine and millions of others. You can't totally eliminate paper and if you recycle it's fine. I don't have a three screen panel but wouldn't mind having one. We can't completely stop using power, it is a necessity in this modern world. His office looks pretty small to me and makes me like him even more than I already do. I'm sure the nasty nitpickers will find something wrong but it's all a bunch of nonsense. Loved all the photos of him.

16. Bittersweet
It's kind of bittersweet looking at those wonderful pictures and how things might have been now if he would have not been swindled out of the presidency.
