another guy who's suddenly glad what the D's have accomplished

...namely improved unemployment benefits and COBRA. Got laid off yesterday. The employer was a government contractor and they just didn't get enough contracts.

It wasn't really a fun place to work, but it was kind of cool to be such an out lefty and then get handed a security clearance -- I was certified by Uncle Sam to not be anti-American. And to anybody who wanted to tell me to Support Our Troops, I could answer that I was doing so, directly -- for instance, I worked on a program to distribute retroactive bonuses to stop-lossed soldiers.
